Nutreco veteran and bank expert

Proximar Seafood has appointed Nutreco Chief Innovation Officer, Viggo Halseth, and Peter Hermanrud, chief strategist at Norwegian bank Sparebank 1, as new board members.

The company is building its first fish farm based on land next to Mount Fuji in Japan. In addition to this, Proximar plans to put eggs into the hatchery during the third quarter of this year.

The Bergen-based company, which trades on the Euronext, is one of the top-performing land-based salmon farming companies so far this year. Company shares were up 11% on Monday. On the other side, competitor Atlantic Sapphire has seen its shares fall over 28% year to date.
