Trident Seafoods named a new managing director for their European operations, following the departure of long-time executive Stefan Kleemeyer.

Kleemeyer, formerly an executive with Pickenpack, joined Trident in 2006 when the Seattle-based company opened a European office. Kleemeyer assumed the role of managing director of Trident’s Europe operations in 2016 when Trident acquired the Pickenpack factory in Riepe, Germany and the group’s sales division.

The Pickenpack acquisition marked the company’s first foray into European processing, and Kleemeyer was an integral part of restructuring the new operation under Trident’s ownership.

Thomas Scherer, who will take up the role, was the managing director at Trident subsidiary Pickenpack Seafoods since February 2020.
