AquaGen Europe appoints Knut Røflo as new CEO

The Norwegian breeding company has announced today the appointment of Knut Røflo as the new CEO of AquaGen Europe. Nevertheless, he will take up the position on November 1st. With this designation, AquaGen is seeking to consolidate its position in the global fish egg market and meet new challenges and needs from the aquaculture farming industry "with innovations and competitive edge throughout the value chain".

"We have been through an extensive process to find the right leader of AquaGen. Knut has a solid management experience and competence, and in addition he is a visionary, committed and future-oriented leader who will contribute to our success with our ambitions, both in Norway and abroad", said AquaGen President Odd Magne Rødseth on the appointment.

Extensive training and experience

Knut Røflo holds a Cand. Agriculture degree from the Norwegian Agricultural College/NMBU, with a Master's degree in Business and Management, later supplemented with a Master's degree in Management from BI Norwegian Business School. But, moreover his studies, he has held several leading positions in Cermaq, EWOS and Felleskjøpet for the past 20 years. 

Røflo is currently CEO of Felleskjøpet Fôrutvikling (FKF). During his 13 years in the position, he has led the company through a restructuring and marketing phase in an industry with increasing international competition. In addition, he is chairman of the board of the Foods of Norway project, as well as a board member of Topigs Norsvin, one of the world's leading pig breeding companies.
