Cooke acquires a Canadian provider of trucking and transportation services

Cooke Seafood has announced the acquisition of Connors Transfer Limited, a provider of trucking and transportation services, through its subsidiary Shoreland Transport Inc. Both companies are private, family-owned businesses.

Therefore, Cooke confirmed they will operate all terminals and facilities. Also, continue to focus on driver retention and recruitment, to grow its customer base and routes. Further, it defined the provider of trucking as the most reliable and transparent operators in the industry.

Moreover, Glenn Cooke, CEO of Shoreland Transport Inc. said: "Connors is a trusted transportation provider known for their exceptionally high level of customer service. We're pleased to be welcoming Connor's 215 employees to Team Cooke."

Brothers Glenn and Lauchie Connors founded Connors Transfer Limited in Stellarton, N.S. in 1982.

The business began as a small operation with two trucks delivering dry goods to grocery stores in Nova Scotia, eventually moving to fresh and frozen produce.

Over the last 40 years, the company has grown to a fleet of 143 trucks and 261 trailers with four terminal locations.
