In the latest FAIRR Protein Producer Index edition, Salmones Camanchaca, achieved excellent results, ranking sixth globally and becoming the top company in the industry in Chile. The index evaluates various standards, including the management of greenhouse gas emissions, waste and pollution, use of antibiotics, food safety, animal welfare, deforestation, and biodiversity, among other factors, to determine the level of risk and opportunity for the companies.

These standards allowed Salmones Camanchaca to improve its ranking by four places, from tenth to sixth place, compared to 2021, led by Norwegian company Mowi.

Alfredo Tello, Sustainability Manager at Salmones Camanchaca, said that being recognized as the sixth most sustainable global producer in the industry by this important index reflects the company's commitment to the environment, social welfare, and good corporate behavior.

He added that the multiple nutritional attributes of salmon and the efforts made by the industry to produce it sustainably are reflected in the results of this fifth edition of the index, which is led by actors from the aquaculture industry, who occupy seven of the top ten places, including Salmones Camanchaca.

The Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index, which was published on December 6, ranks the sustainability performance of the world's 60 largest protein producers in the meat, dairy, and aquaculture fish industries based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
