The Board of Directors of New Zealand King Salmon announced a few hours ago that it will have a new CEO: Carl Carrington. His position will be effective on August 7.

Carrington has been a valuable asset to the company, bringing with him a wealth of executive and governance experience. With an impressive track record spanning 30 years, he has held key positions at renowned companies such as McCashins Brewery and Moana New Zealand, where he served as General Manager. Furthermore, he held the position of Managing Director at Heineken-Lion Australia, along with various other roles in commercial, sales, and management.

In addition, and particularly in recent years, Carl has focused on Governance roles, including serving on the New Zealand Business and Enterprise Council, the Cawthron Institute, Mt Cook Alpine Salmon, and other NZX listed and private companies, mainly in the food and beverage sectors.

Carrington thus joins New Zealand King Salmon after a difficult period when the company is readjusting its strategic and operational focus.

"I am excited to be joining the business at this time. It has faced some significant challenges over the past few years but has adapted its operating model, stabilized its farming operations, and is tracking to deliver improved results for FY24. I also recognize the passion and efforts of management and the whole team at NZKS for weathering the storm and emerging fit and in good shape to tackle the opportunities ahead. The future is exciting for NZKS as the world recognizes the premium value of King salmon and the business looks to expand its operations over the coming years." said Carrington.
