BiOceanOr, a start-up specializing in disruptive digital technologies to predict and monitor water quality for aquaculture and the wider "blue economy", has raised €2 million through its latest investor round.

Founded in 2018, BiOceanOr provides water quality forecasting services and bio-guided automatic recommendations, providing decision-support analytics.

The company says it has developed the "first underwater weather station for real time and predictive monitoring of water quality", and aims to provide solutions for seafood farmers in addressing key challenges such as climate change, sustainability, and operational efficiency. BiOceanOr also works on environmental monitoring for other coastal and offshore stakeholders to mitigate environmental impacts and associated risks.

"We are thrilled to have secured €1.5 million in investments through this fundraise. This significant achievement not only validates the hard work and dedication of our team but also highlights the growing recognition of the importance of water quality predictive analysis in aquaculture," said Samuel Dupont, Co-founder & CEO, BiOceanOr

"The support and trust shown by our investors are a testament to the potential of our solutions to revolutionize the aquaculture industry. With their backing, we are now in an even stronger position to drive innovation, refine our technologies, and expand our reach."

Charlotte Dupont, Co-founder & CTO of BiOceanOr added, "At BiOceanOr, we are committed to developing advanced tools and predictive models that empower aquaculture operators to make informed decisions about their operations."

"This fundraise will enable us to accelerate our research and development efforts, enhance our capabilities, and provide our clients with state-of-the-art solutions that optimize productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability."

The funding round, which comprises approximately €1.5 million in equity and a €500,000 grant from the 'PREMICE' project under the i-Nov innovation program, positions BiOceanOr for accelerated growth and continued advancements in the field of water quality forecasting and decision-support analytics.
