The Basque shipyard, Zamakona, which specialized in the construction and repair of vessels, will supply Trident Aqua Services with two new hybrid vessels, adding to the five others already under construction.

This new live fish carrier has been developed by Salt Ship Design and is the fourth vessel that the Basque shipyard has built for the aquaculture maritime services company.

It has a capacity of 4,000 m³ and will feature a state-of-the-art fish handling system from MMC First Process, a powerful reverse osmosis plant, and hybrid propulsion. The contracting process was supported by MIL Shipping.

Finally, to accommodate the diverse needs of customers, the vessel will feature a highly flexible platform and will help Trident further specialize in freshwater-based treatments for sea lice and AGD (amoebic gill disease).

Regarding this order, the CEO of Trident Aqua, Arild Aasmyr, said: "This investment represents not only a significant capacity increase but also a strengthening of our ability to deliver the very best services to current and future customers worldwide."

Additionally, the Chairman of Zamakona, Pedro Garaygordobil, stated: "Zamakona is proud to strengthen our collaboration with Trident Aqua Services and contribute to the company's continued growth. The new contract is a great success for the shipyard and secures a solid order book for the next three years."

More orders and recent deliveries

Trident Aqua Services has also contracted a new 27-meter premium service vessel to be built at Sletta Ship Yard, located in the Nordland region of Norway.

The vessel has been designed by Solstrand Trading and will feature powerful deck equipment and an ROV system capable of drilling up to 300 meters.

"Both Zamakona and Sletta Ship Yard know us well, challenge us, and have delivered high quality and reliability in previous projects. We are confident they will do the same this time. These vessels will be important additions that significantly strengthen our fleet," indicated Aasmyr.

Sletta currently has two other vessels pending delivery to Trident: Multi Installer (27 m) and MultiMaster (20 m). Furthermore, the Norwegian company recently delivered the Multi Frontier to Trident.

"The project builds on our strong and long-term collaboration, and we are excited to once again showcase what we can deliver in modern, top-quality vessels," concluded Kåre Sletta, Managing Director at Sletta Ship Yard.
