The Holmøy Group has hired the services of Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted vessel known as FMV W27M Bjarkøy Class. The vessel is specially designed to perform Eidsfjord Sjøfarm tasks, the aquaculture company in the group. Moreover, the creation of functional crew facilities has been emphasized.

The design was developed in 2023 and will be fully built at Fitjar and delivered in September 2025. It will carry the number 60 and up to 6 people will be able to travel in it.

FMV60 will have an optimized hull that will allow an economical speed of approximately 9 knots and a battery pack of approximately 920 kWh meeting operating costs and environmental requirements.

Regarding this contract, Roger Simonsen, CEO of Eidsfjord Sjøfarm said: "The capacity and functionality of the service vessel, specially tailored for our tasks, will be a significant asset for Eidsfjord Sjøfarm. We place great emphasis on creating good and safe working environments for our employees, and this vessel is no exception. With modern equipment and technology, we focus on ensuring a good working environment on board."

In 2023, Holmøy Maritime, Eidsfjord Sjøfarm, and Biomar initiated a circular raw material collaboration in the production of food for short-distance voyages, in which they use the residues generated from the fishing activity to become part of the salmon food.
