Marie Stoknes joined ScaleAQ in a newly created position as Materials Technology Manager – Grønn Plattform.
SirkAQ
Marie Stoknes will lead 'Work Package 2: Extension of Aquaculture Equipment Lifespan' in the SirkAQ project, in which the aquaculture solutions provider ScaleAQ is involved.
The project consists of developing plastic materials used in the aquaculture industry, including ropes and nets. The aim is to extend the lifespan of components and contribute to testing new products made from recycled plastic equipment.
Currently, Stoknes is the Materials Technology Manager – Grønn Plattform in ScaleAQ where she works on circular value chains for plastic equipment to reduce plastic production and CO2 footprint.
Prior, she served as a process manager for two production departments at a silicon smelting plant and has experience in the metal industry, particularly in silicon production, where she worked for eight years.
Regarding the project, Marie described her new role as "very rewarding, especially due to the close collaboration with the other partners in the project".
The project 'Circular solutions for the aquaculture industry' with the short name SirkAQ received a commitment of almost NOK 70 million in December 2022 from the state support scheme Grønn Plattform.
Grønn Plattform is an initiative that provides support for research and innovation-driven green transformation in the business world. The purpose is to optimize the use of resources and reduce the environmental and climate footprint of aquaculture, where the vision is "zero plastic waste by 2030".
The project has a strong consortium with partners along the entire value chain from producer, supplier, and breeder to recycler. Scale Aquaculture AS is the responsible company and leads the project. The rest of the partners are ScaleAQ, Oceanize, Hallingplast, SinkabergHansen, OsloMet, Norner Research, Sintef Ocean and Future Materials.
