Norwegian land-based aquaculture feeding technology supplier Laksesystemer has secured several new international contracts, the company has announced, describing this as a growth "milestone".

The company, which specializes in feeding systems for land-based and closed aquaculture facilities, will be delivering its technology to clients in Iceland, Japan and South Korea, including Mirae Aqua Farm, which is constructing a land-based salmon farming facility with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes in Pohang, the largest city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.

The Norwegian firm said that international interest in land-based systems was increasing.

"We are experiencing significant international interest in our solutions from players investing in land-based aquaculture. The technology has been developed with a focus on operational reliability, and we have systems that make it efficient and easy for us to remotely assist customers worldwide," said Ole Gabriel Kverneland, CEO of Lakesystemer, in a press release.

"This also means that our customers always have access to Norwegian expertise to help optimize their facilities and production. Additionally, the facilities are designed for the highest possible degree of precision and reduced feed waste, which is crucial for succeeding with land-based production in RAS," Kverneland added.
