Måsøval AS has reported record harvest volumes for 2025, despite a "demanding" year due to high sea temperatures and what CEO Helge Kvalvik described as "heavy lice pressure."

In its Q4 update released last week, the company said it harvested 8,684 gutted weight tonnes (GWT) during the final three months of the year, including 2,875 tonnes from commercial co-location agreements. Total harvest volume for 2025 reached 28,467 tonnes, which the company said is the highest annual harvest volume in its history.

The group reported what it described as "positive development in key biological drivers" during the fourth quarter. Net growth at sea increased by 16% compared with the same period a year earlier, which the company said was due to lower mortality and improved fish welfare. The share of superior quality fish also rose to 89% during the quarter.

According to the company, its increased capacity in treatment and harvesting facilities helped it manage a period marked by unusually warm waters and heightened sea lice levels. Måsøval said that investments and operational measures introduced during 2025 have "strengthened our operational resilience and position for continued growth."

“In 2025, we demonstrated strong operational control despite heavy lice pressure and elevated sea temperatures,” said CEO Helge Kvalvik.

“While biological performance depends on several factors, we enter 2026 expecting that the positive trend will continue, supported by the measures we are implementing and the steadfast commitment of our competent team,” he added.
