The agreement was formalised in Copenhagen.
Danish company Globaq Solutions and Fiskarna Aqua, a developer and operator of aquaculture projects, have signed a General Service Agreement (GSA) to develop Algeria's first integrated aquaculture ecosystem.
Together with a network of European partners, the two companies will develop a scalable, future-ready platform encompassing freshwater and marine aquaculture, hatchery development, processing, and innovation.
According to Globaq Solutions on LinkedIn, the initiative has already been designated a National Aquaculture Strategic Pilot Project and has secured the necessary land and marine concessions.
"At Globaq Solutions, we see this as more than just a business project. It is an opportunity to create long-term value through technology transfer, local capacity building, and sustainable growth within the blue economy," reads the statement.
Globaq Solutions, formerly Billund Aquaculture and founded by Christian Sørensen, specialises in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for land-based fish farming, offering design, engineering, turnkey solutions, and technical support.
Fiskarna Aqua, meanwhile, focuses on developing large-scale aquaculture projects, acting as a promoter and integrator of international investments and partnerships.
"Thank you, Christian Sørensen and Kristoffer Lund. I truly appreciate your engagement and look forward to building a mutually valuable and fruitful strategic partnership between Globaq Solutions and Fiskarna Aqua," said Cizar Bachir Brahim, Chairperson of the Fiskarna Aqua Board.
