Norwegian aquaculture workboat supplier Moen Marin has appointed Robin Johansen as its new Chief Commercial Officer, the company has announced.
Johansen is now responsible for leading sales and marketing for the Trondheim-headquartered firm, having formally joined the management team from 1 October. He has worked at Moen Marin since 2021 as Sales Manager for Nordland and the United Kingdom.
“I am very pleased that Robin has accepted the position. He has solid experience and knows both the industry and the market well,” said Moen Marin CEO Lars Ivar Elvertrø, in a Norwegian language press release. “Robin’s move into this new role is an important step for Moen Marin and our continued efforts to strengthen our market position both in Norway and abroad.”
Johansen, originally from Sund in Lofoten, is described as having extensive knowledge of both the company and the market, as well as strong relationships with customers and partners. Elvertrø added that with Johansen’s “broad experience from various parts of the maritime industry, including technical sales, service, and marketing”, the company has “great confidence” in his ability to take on the commercial responsibility.
“First and foremost, I am very proud and humbled to have been given this opportunity in a company I know well. I’m really looking forward to taking on the role,” Johansen said.
Elvertrø was himself previously Sales and Marketing Director at Moen Marin since 2021, until his appointment as its new CEO in June 2025. At the same time, the company announced it had created a new role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), appointing Kai Karstensen to oversee the company's projects and aftermarket services.
The company, which is part of the ScaleAQ Group, specialises in electric and hybrid vessels, and states that since 2019 it has delivered and contracted more than 100 low- and zero-emission vessels for the Norwegian and international aquaculture sectors.
