Måsøval has publiched its trading update for Q3 2025. Following a high harvest volume in Q2, the Group harvested 6,020 GWT in the third quarter, generating revenues of NOK 580 million (MNOK).
Already in its latest quarterly trading update, the Norwegian salmon farmer reported a decrease in its harvest volume of more than 15% year-on-year. Even though the comparison with last year is not positive, in total figures, the Norwegian salmon farmer has managed to stay above the forecasts.
What is truly remarkable is that, despite facing several challenges—including high sea temperatures and significant sea lice pressure—during Q3, the company managed to grow its biomass and finish the quarter with more than it started with.
To achieve this, the Group deliberately reduced harvest activity in Q3 in order to carry more biomass into the fourth quarter, when salmon prices are expected to rise.
"The industry is emerging from a period of strong supply growth that has pressured prices, and only limited growth is expected in Q4. With a high share of spot sales, Måsøval is well positioned to capitalize on the anticipated increase in salmon prices," the company said in a statement.
In addition, the share of superior quality fish increased from 78% in Q2 2025 to 87%, representing an improvement compared with the same quarter last year (84%). The Group projects an annual harvest of 27,600 GWT in 2025, up from 25,000 GWT harvested in 2024.
Finally, Måsøval’s CEO, Helge Kvalvik, stated: “It is very satisfying to confirm that we have maintained control and increased biomass during a critical phase of the year. Our investments in expanded treatment capacity have strengthened our resilience and positioned us for improved profitability going forward.”
