Royal Agrifirm Group has confirmed the successful completion of its acquisition of the Danish company Hamlet Protein, which produces specialty soy-based protein ingredients for young animal nutrition.

The Group's intentions were formally announced last April, when both companies confirmed that they had successfully reached an agreement. It was also confirmed that Hamlet Protein will continue operating under its own name within Royal Agrifirm Group, with both companies collaborating on nutritional concepts.

Regarding this move, Royal Agrifirm's Group Director of Specialties, Bas van Driel, said: "With the transaction now completed, we are pleased to welcome Hamlet Protein to our company. This step strengthens our Specialties business and our ability to support our customers with differentiated, science-based nutritional solutions."

Hamlet Protein was founded in 1989, originally focused on developing highly digestible soy proteins for young animal nutrition, especially in pigs and livestock. It later expanded into aquaculture to address the sector's need for more sustainable alternatives to fishmeal.

"Together, we strengthen our ability to support customers worldwide with differentiated nutritional solutions, while maintaining our commitment to quality, innovation, and responsible production," reads a statement from Hamlet Protein.
