Optimar
Automated fish processing systems provider Optimar and the leading shipyard in Iceland Slippurinn Akureyri have agreed on a strategic partnership to facilitate vessel service and retrofitting.
In addition, this alliance will allow them to develop and design high-tech processing equipment that will facilitate cross-border production. As a consequence of this, a broader range of tailored products and solutions will be offered to the seafood industry.
"Together, we offer a seamless combination of services and products, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support, said Siggi Olason, CEO of Optimar.
Moreover, the CEO of Slippurinn Akureyri Páll Kristjánsson added: "Optimar is a recognized innovator in the seafood industry, and we are excited to work even more closely together to solve our customer's challenges."
A year ago, the Icelandic investor Kaldbakur, the investment vehicle of the owners of the Icelandic seafood company Samherji, acquired the company. Optimar has branches in Norway, Spain, Romania, and the USA.
