Sofina Foods Europe has appointed a senior seafood industry executive to a newly-created European technical leadership role, as part of a trio of appointments made at the start of the year.

Claire Moore has joined the business as Chief Officer, Technical, Quality and Sustainability. The role forms part of the company’s European Leadership team and, according to Sofina Foods, reflects its “growing ambition for the retail part of our business” and its continued commitment to maintaining industry-leading standards, as the company continues to expand in Europe.

Moore brings plenty of experience from the UK seafood sector, including roles at Hilton Seafood, New England Seafood and supermarket retailer Morrisons. At Hilton Seafood, she most recently served as Quality and CSR Director, Seafood and Added Value, having previously led technical functions within the business. Her earlier roles at New England Seafood and Morrisons included technical management, quality assurance and sustainability across retail seafood supply chains.

Alongside Moore’s arrival, the company has also confirmed two additional senior appointments, with Toni Jackson becoming Director of Communications, and Samantha Williams joining as Director of HR, Commercial and Corporate.

Sofina Foods Europe, a subsidiary of Sofina Foods Inc., is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of primary and further processed protein products for both retail and food service customers via its Karro, Young's Seafood, and Greenland Seafood subsidiaries. The seafood producer is headquartered in Malton, North Yorkshire, operating 21 manufacturing sites across the UK, Ireland, Germany, and France, employing approximately 8,000 people.
