Corbion launches AI-developed product to enhance food safety

The Corbion Listeria Control Model will help food manufacturers combat Listeria contamination.

In the first quarter of 2025, Corbion is set to introduce the enhanced Corbion Listeria Control Model, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), which will enable manufacturers to improve food safety and accelerate product development.

The new advanced dynamic temperature variation capabilities and the addition of deep-chill conditions will more accurately reflect storage fluctuating environments, whether in production, retail, or consumer use.

Additionally, the deep-chill simulation as a storage method to extend the shelf life of food aims to combat listeria contamination at low temperatures.

Regarding these updates, Senior Vice President of Functional Ingredients and Solutions at Corbion David Charest, noted: "These updates empower producers to protect their products more effectively and meet industry safety standards."

The Corbion Listeria Control Model is built on the company's more than 20 years of experience gathering data to control listeria. The model supports natural preservation solutions, such as Corbion's patented vinegar-based portfolio.

Finally, plant-based food products, which are increasingly popular in the alternative protein market, will be included.

"Our goal is to give manufacturers a comprehensive tool that ensures product safety across a range of environments and food types while helping them bring products to market faster," Charest added.
