All salmon, shrimp, and tuna products at Pokawa, France's leading poké bowl chain, have been certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
These certifications ensure full traceability and that all seafood served by Pokawa comes from responsibly managed fisheries or certified aquaculture farms.
Furthermore, according to Maxime Engler, Market Development Manager for ASC in France, it has become the first ASC-certified poké chain in France. From now on, it is committed to promoting environmental protection, biodiversity preservation, water quality, animal welfare, and human rights.
"Pokawa sets an example, asserts its leadership in sustainable seafood, and demonstrates a strong commitment that meets the growing expectations of consumers for food that respects the environment and human rights," he noted.
Regarding MSC certification, Pokawa has demonstrated that its products come from healthy fisheries, with minimal impact on marine ecosystems and effective, transparent fisheries management. Consumers can trust that the company is fighting overfishing and supporting preservation.
"We are proud to support Pokawa. By choosing MSC-certified products, the restaurant chain gives consumers the power to support sustainable fishing every day. It’s a positive signal for the future of the oceans," assured Amélie Martinez, Head of the Commercial Division at MSC France.
Finally, Director of Purchasing and CSR, Pokawa, Thomas Le Breton said: "We are delighted to have achieved this dual certification, which marks a significant milestone in the deployment of our responsible purchasing policy."
