The French insect ingredient company Innovafeed has obtained the validation of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its products (Branded Data*) by the independent organization Global Feed LCA Institute (GFLI).

GFLI provides the global reference database for the animal feed ingredients industry and complies with international standards from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Union (EU).

The inclusion of Innovafeed's insect protein, oil, and frass (organic fertilizer) in this framework will make environmental assessments more efficient and promote their role in the transition toward more sustainable livestock practices.

Regarding this achievement, Chief Business Officer and Chief Impact Officer, Maye Walraven, stated: "This major milestone, eagerly awaited by all our customers, provides tangible proof of the impact of Innovafeed's model, a model designed to transform agri-food value chains and accelerate their transition toward more resilient and responsible systems."

The validated data will be integrated into the GFLI database during its next revision, scheduled for June 2026, completing a global and up-to-date database.

"We are extremely proud to join this global database after nearly 18 months of a rigorous validation and review process. Beyond our internal impact communications, this recognition gives our model global, harmonized legitimacy across the entire industry," concluded Chief of Staff and Impact Manager, Enzo Ballestra.

Moreover, Innovafeed announced in December 2025 the renewal of its international B Corp™ certification for its ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact on its employees, the community, and the environment.
