Innovafeed has announced the renewal of its international B Corp™ certification for its ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact on its employees, the community, and the environment.

B Lab, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, is responsible for issuing these certifications. In this case, it is a renewal that comes three years after the company first received the B Corp™ designation in 2022.

To be more precise, the French insect ingredient company achieved an overall score of 118, improving from the initial 111/200, which reflects the evolution of its commitment to social and environmental impact at the core of its business model and governance.

Some of the actions that have contributed to this achievement include scaling up operations at its Nesle industrial site (the world’s largest insect production facility), expanding and developing its workforce, and advancing major environmental initiatives.

"This improvement motivates us to continue transforming our industry and to demonstrate that new industrial models, both high-performing and sustainable, can deliver solutions for tomorrow," said Innovafeed Chief Impact Officer Maye Walraven.

In January, Innovafeed partnered with Agryco, which specializes in fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural supplies sales, to commercialize the natural, high-performance organic fertilizer Hilucia™ 'Frass for plants'.

Hilucia™ Frass is derived from the organic residue of insect breeding and provides organic matter, nitrogen, and other essential nutrients for crops. It also reduces the environmental footprint, making it a highly sustainable alternative to traditional fertilizers.
