The leading Vietnam-based manufacturer and exporter of canned seafood, KTCFOOD, has joined the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF), known for advocating the long-term conservation and sustainable use of global tuna fisheries.

In this way, KTCFOOD will collaborate in the development and implementation of science-based conservation initiatives, sustainability-focused research, and the promotion of responsible fishing policies and practices worldwide.

Regarding this incorporation, ISSF President Susan Jackson assured: "With every new partner, we strengthen our commitment to building a seafood supply chain that is more transparent and sustainable, while advancing the health of tuna stocks and protecting the broader marine ecosystem through collaborative conservation efforts."

Companies that join ISSF must comply with the conservation measures established by the Foundation and undergo independent audits each year, demonstrating transparency and accountability. The results of these audits are shared publicly.

About ISSF

ISSF brings together seafood companies, scientists, and conservationists to advance practical, science-based solutions that reduce bycatch, protect ecosystems, and improve the management of tuna stocks.

Since its launch in 2009, ISSF has grown from eight to 24 participating companies, including global brands across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Pacific Islands, and Asia.

In June 2024, ISSF released its 2023 annual report, Navigating Toward Sustainable Tuna Fisheries, which identified and promoted best practices in tuna and ocean conservation with fishers, vessels, tuna companies, and Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs).
