India unveils its first fully AI-powered aquaculture park

Kings Infra Ventures Limited's operating system provides real-time water quality analytics, predictive disease alerts, and automated feeding, among other benefits.

The Indian aquaculture company Kings Infra Ventures Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop the Kings Maritime Aquaculture Technology Park.

India's first fully AI-powered aquaculture park will be located near Srikakulam, close to Visakhapatnam on the country’s east coast, and will span 500 acres and involve an investment of INR 25 billion (approximately USD 278 million).

The District Collector of Srikakulam will be responsible for identifying suitable land parcels and expediting all regulatory approvals to ensure that Phase I operations can begin as soon as possible.

Moreover, this project has been made possible through an investment of INR 5 billion (approximately USD 55.5 million) by Kings Infra, participating investors, and institutions. This investment has been primarily allocated to core infrastructure, processing, and R&D facilities.

Indirectly, ancillary industries, pond-based systems, MSME participation, and renewable energy clusters will contribute an additional INR 20 billion (approximately USD 222 million).

Hatcheries, indoor farming systems, and a Skill & Innovation Centre

Specifically, it will feature hatcheries, indoor farming systems, multi-species culture units, processing lines, a marine bio-actives division, and an AI-driven digital operations center.

It is worth highlighting that professionals will have access to the Aquaculture Skill & Innovation Centre, which will train and certify 5,000 aquaculture workers over five years.

Finally, the centre will promote the growth and development of MSMEs, thereby fostering entrepreneurship in the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh. Collaborations with universities and international institutions will be explored to strengthen research and capacity-building.
