ScaleAQ has confirmed that the world’s largest salmon producer, Mowi, has renewed its agreement to continue using its software solutions, which reduce data duplication and errors while providing a clearer overview of operations.

"The software from ScaleAQ, which we use across all our farming units, plays a crucial role in this work. A standardized, global, and cloud-based system enables us to rapidly scale new, effective, and value-creating IT solutions across the company," explained Jørn I. Berg, Group IT Director at Mowi.

This system also includes three main applications, collectively known as Mercatus, which support biological control and traceability, enable planning and forecasting, and assist in valuing biological assets in financial reporting.

Moreover, Stephen Budgeon, ScaleAQ Director of Sales and Professional Services, also revealed that ScaleAQ and Mowi plan to develop new production analysis tools to transform biological and operational data into improved insights.

"The ambition is to gain a deeper understanding of fish health and production outcomes, so our clients can react more quickly to changing conditions and strengthen long-term sustainability," he assured.

Finally, the Group CDO at ScaleAQ, Thomas Wiig, said: "The renewal of this partnership with Mowi reflects the value of building technology in collaboration with the industry, and of utilizing data across systems. It demonstrates not only trust, but also a shared vision for how digital tools can support both growth and responsibility in aquaculture."

In June, ScaleAQ confirmed its intention to acquire Probotic AS, a Norwegian startup that offers solutions for the autonomous inspection and cleaning of fish farming net pens at sea. The aim is to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its presence in Northern Norway.
