Sigenergy bets on the integration of solar and storage solutions in aquaculture

During the Sigenergy Day APAC, guests and investors explored an innovative seawater fish farming in the southern shores of Hainan.

The company expert in renewable energy and storage solutions, Sigenergy, organized the Sigenergy Day APAC event in Hainan, China, to showcase a pioneering seawater aquaculture project that utilizes its innovations.

The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) energy storage solution and the SigenStack energy storage system integrate 6 MW of solar power with 5 MWh of storage. According to the company, this represents a breakthrough in the deployment of sustainable energy for aquaculture.

Thanks to Sigenergy's technology, farms cultivating the valuable Leopard Coral Grouper, which require constant water temperature, continuous oxygenation, and carefully regulated light penetration, can now access a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable alternative.

Moreover, Sigenergy's modular storage solution, with plug-and-play connectors, adapts to space constraints and maximizes the use of available land, and allows an easy installation without the need for special cranes.

Finally, these units distribute the weight evenly, preventing overloading of the terrain. Their IP66 and C5-M protection ratings safeguard them against saltwater corrosion, ensuring long-term durability in harsh environmental conditions.

Another example of a company that trusts in renewable energy is the Finnish aquaculture company, Finnforel, which specializes in trout farming and other species. One of its facilities uses excess solar energy generated during the day, which is stored by an intelligent system.
