The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food in Spain has awarded the 'Jacumar Award 2024' to the project Development of a Digital Model for Escape Management from the Naval and Maritime Technology Center of Murcia (CTNaval).

The award, worth 20,000 euros, promotes and supports research in the aquaculture sector, aiming to strengthen ties between the scientific community and producers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

The project develops digital systems for remote facility management and early detection of failures or breaks that may occur in ocean aquaculture infrastructures. All this will reduce economic, environmental, and social impacts.

On its part, the Spanish Ministry aims to strengthen its commitment to research and innovation in the aquaculture sector with this award and to help increase the presence of aquaculture products in the markets.
