Brooklyn-based Acme Smoked Fish Corp., a leading producer of premium smoked and cured seafood, announced that its current Chief People & Sustainability Officer, Rob Snyder, has been named the new CEO, effective immediately in a planning capacity.
The incoming Chief Executive Officer will formally assume the position on January 1, 2026, taking over from current CEO Eduardo Carbajosa, from whom Acme Smoked Fish announced in the same release that he is retiring after nearly two decades of leadership.
"We are incredibly grateful to Eduardo for his strategic leadership and dedication over the years," said David Caslow, Chairman and member of the founding family. "He has helped guide Acme through meaningful growth and positioned the company for a strong future," he added, commenting on Carbajosa's retirement.
As the company recalled, Carbajosa joined Acme in 2007 as Chief Financial Officer and has been a key member of the executive team for nearly twenty years. President since 2020 and CEO since January 2024, throughout his tenure, he has played what the smoked seafood supplier has called "an instrumental role in steering the company through transformative growth," which has helped strengthen Acme's financial resilience and expand its presence both in the U.S. and internationally.
According to Acme Smoked Fish, now, following the appointment of the new CEO, the company begins a new chapter focused on growth, innovation, and global leadership in ready-to-eat seafood. "As we look ahead, we're thrilled to welcome Rob as our next CEO. His values, industry knowledge, and people-first leadership style make him the ideal person to lead us into the next chapter," Chairman David Caslow said in this regard.
Rob Snyder, for his part, said he is honored to step into this role at such an exciting time in Acme's history and thanked the Caslow family for the opportunity. "I'm excited to build on the strong foundation that Eduardo established, and to draw on the culture and passion of teammates across Acme as we continue growing the most respected ready-to-eat seafood company in the world," he stated.
With over 20 years of experience across seafood, sustainability, and organizational development, as mentioned above, Snyder has served most recently as Acme's Chief People & Sustainability Officer. Now, during the next six months, he will lead long-term planning efforts, working with teams across Acme's U.S. headquarters and international operations to chart the company's course for 2026 and beyond.
Acme Smoked Fish Corp., which expanded its production space and product line in 2022, is a fourth-generation family-owned company dedicated to smoked fish since 1906. In addition to its Brooklyn headquarters, Acme smokes fish in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Florida, Chile, and Denmark.
