BioMar Australia has announced the appointment of Matt Whittle as Commercial Director, effective next August, to strengthen its senior leadership team in the region.
Previously, Whittle has been closely involved in the local aquaculture industry, working across farm production, customer relationships, and the sector's commercial dynamics. He has also been part of aquaculture operations in Australasia and mainland Australia.
"His understanding of farming systems, alongside his Tasmanian background, positions him well to lead our commercial team and continue building close partnerships with producers," BioMar Australia Managing Director David Whyte said.
Consequently, the current Commercial Director, Mike Thomson, will take on a newly created role as Service Delivery Director starting in September 2026. In this position, he will focus on improving supply reliability, logistics, and on-farm customer support.
Regarding this, Whyte noted: "The creation of this role allows us to sharpen our focus on delivery and execution while maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships."
One month ago, BioMar reported a strong increase in feed volumes in its 2025 annual report, while maintaining earnings at levels broadly similar to the previous year.
According to CEO Carlos Díaz, this growth was supported by partnerships with aquaculture producers focused on improving sustainability and efficiency, as the company gains market share and strengthens long-term relationships.
