Aquaservice, a leading provider of advanced water treatment technologies based in Norway, has announced its expansion into the UK with the opening of its new headquarters in Chinnor, Oxfordshire. Aquaservice Water Engineering UK Ltd. reinforces the Norwegian company's commitment to providing high-quality solutions and responsive service across a broad range of sectors.

According to the press release announcing this opening and the appointment of a new Sales Director for the UK, Aquaservice said that the new facility features modern office space, warehouse operations, and a dedicated technical support and commissioning centre. "All designed to better serve customers across the UK and Europe," the release pointed out, although it added that Aquaservice Water Engineering UK will have a strong focus on Scotland's aquaculture market.

From its new UK location, Aquaservice will "support, promote and sell" comprehensive water treatment technologies, including advanced filtration and validated ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems, and specialised solutions tailored for the aquatics industry.

The Norwegian manufacturing company specialising in construction and manufacturing in HDPE (high-density polyethylene), has been working with the aquaculture sector for 40 years, with products ranging from automatic self-cleaning filters, UV systems to service barges... "Basically anything involving water for the aquaculture industry," Aquaservice states on its website.

Duncan Ockendon, appointed Sales Director UK at Aquaservice

Coming from the position of Aquatics Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland at Evoqua Water Technologies, Duncan Ockendon is now the new Sales Director UK at Aquaservice.

In addition to the opening of the new UK headquarters, Aquaservice has further strengthened its presence in the United Kingdom with the appointment of a new Sales Director for the country. Duncan Ockendon, a senior UV industry professional, will have overall responsibility for the Aquaservice UV range, with particular focus on the aquaculture and pool/leisure markets.

With a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Chemistry from the University of Hertfordshire, the new Sales Director UK at Aquaservice, entered the UV industry in 2003. According to the release, Ockendon became involved early on in the aquatics sector due to the rapid adoption of UV treatment of swimming pool water for the control of combined chlorine and protection against chlorine-resistant pathogens, such as Cryptosporidium.

Moreover, Duncan Ockendon also supported Ocea/Steinsvik/ScaleAQ for many years in selling UV equipment to the Norwegian aquaculture market. He has a strong international background gained in several large corporations and comes from the position of Aquatics Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland at Evoqua Water Technologies.

"We are thrilled to have Duncan aboard. His experience and knowledge is perfect for us moving heavily into the UK and European UV-market. And this UV-push combined with our unique Aquafilter technology looks to be a very potent combination," said Asgeir Skogstad, Aquaservice CEO, commenting on the appointment.
