The Chilean subsidiary of aquaculture industry supplier ScaleAQ announced this week that it was welcoming a new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). A Civil Engineer from the University of Chile, Lucas Correa has a distinguished career in the commercial field as well as extensive knowledge of the aquaculture sector.
With a distinguished track record in industrial maintenance and project management in several companies across the Chilean aquaculture sector, in his more than twenty years of professional experience, names such as the AKVA group, Australis Seafoods and ITG Chile stand out.
After his initial years working on hydroelectric projects, Correa joined the AKVA group in 2014 as a Project Manager and left just over two years later, having already risen to Head of Field & Workshop Services.
In his next company, Australis Seafoods, where he spent more than eight years, he also rose rapidly, holding various positions and eventually becoming Deputy Manager of Maintenance and Structures.
Most recently, he was serving as Product Manager at ITG Chile, a company dedicated to connecting technology and sustainability in aquaculture.
In the statement released on its LinkedIn page announcing the appointment, ScaleAQ Chile said that in his new position, Correa will be tasked with driving business opportunities and strengthening long-term relationships with the company's clients and strategic partners.
Commenting on the appointment, the General Manager of ScaleAQ Chile, Cristian Sauterel—who, in turn, was appointed in January of this year—stated that this addition represents a new impetus for the organization.
"Lucas's addition reflects our commitment to continue strengthening the team with outstanding professionals. We are convinced that his experience, leadership, and business acumen will be fundamental in further consolidating ScaleAQ as a strategic partner for the salmon farming industry," he said.
"We want to continue growing alongside our clients, supporting them with technology, innovation and an increasingly personalized service," Sauterel added, outlining the path the Norwegian aquaculture technology provider will follow in Chile.
The new Chief Commercial Officer of ScaleAQ Chile also shared his feelings upon assuming his new role.
