Nutreco today announced that Skretting CEO, Therese Log Bergjord is stepping down. The communication was made as part of a corporate release in which the resignation of Fulco van Lede as CEO of the parent company was also made public.
The feed company has emphasized that in both cases these are personal decisions and that the two resignations will become effective on June 1, 2024.
David Blakemore will succeed the van Lede, while Log Bergjord's position as head of Skreting will be filled by Bastiaan van Tilburg.
Skretting's CEO has been at the helm of Nutreco's aquaculture business line for seven years when announcing her resignation. "I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Skretting and as part of the Nutreco leadership team. We’ve achieved so much, and I will continue to champion sustainable aquaculture even as I move onto my next opportunity," said Therese Log Bergjord taking stock of the period.
For his part, Nutreco's still-CEO thanked Log Bergjord for her "tremendous contributions to the company" in the seven years during which she has been leading Skretting. "She leaves behind a strong team and a business well positioned to remain at the forefront of sustainable aquaculture," said Fulco van Lede.
As mentioned above, Nutreco's statement remarked it is Therese Log Bergjord's personal decision to leave the company. Bastiaan van Tilburg, current Managing Director for Trouw Nutrition Europe and Central Asia, will replace her as of June 1.
Fulco van Lede, CEO of Skretting's parent company, Nutreco, also announced that he will step down on the same date, June 1.
Like Skretting's CEO, Nutreco CEO Fulco van Lede will also step down this summer after leading the parent company for the past three years. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nutreco, and my many years as part of the SHV team, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together," he stated.
"It’s been a privilege to work alongside Nutreco’s passionate team as we tackle the challenge of sustainably feeding an ever-growing population," he continued. "Yet, after 20 years at SHV, with the last 10 working at Board level, it is time for me to broaden my horizon." As in the case of Therese Log Bergjord, Fulco van Lede's resignation as CEO is also a personal decision.
Nutreco is part of the global family business SHV. Commenting on its CEO's decision to step down, SHV CEO Jeroen Drost said, "We respect Fulco’s decision to step down and want to thank him for all his contributions to Nutreco and the wider SHV Family of Companies over the years and wish him all the best in the future."
In his statement, Drost also had a few words for Fulco's replacement, David Blakemore. "David’s experience in the industry and knowledge of the company makes him an excellent successor and the right leader to take the company forward to its next phase of growth," SHV CEO claimed. With his appointment, it's all in-house at Nutreco.
Blakemore has been within the company for two years. He joined in 2022 as CEO of Trouw Nutrition, Nutreco's animal feed business line, and since then, has also been a member of the Board of Directors. According to today's release, he has more than 30 years of experience in nurturing customer relationships, driving commercial and innovative agendas, and guiding operations. In addition, he has also established a strong track record of delivering results and building strong teams.
The CEO position left vacant at Trouw Nutrition, with the promotion of David Blakemore to CEO of Nutreco, will be filled by Eduardo Lopes Alberto, who joined the company's animal feed business line in January 2024 as Vice President of Global Innovation.
