Christian Chramer, new CEO of the Norwegian Seafood Council

The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) has announced today Christian Chramer appointment as new CEO. The board made the decision unanimously and Chramer will take up the position on 1 October. Until then, Børge Grønbech will continue in his role as Acting General Manager, a position he held following the resignation of the previous CEO, Renate Larsen.

Mutual trust and clear objectives

NSC's new CEO has expressed his delight at the confidence shown in him by the board with this appointment. "I am very proud of the trust from the board, and I am very much looking forward to taking on the job as leader of the Norwegian Seafood Council. I look forward to working with skilled colleagues in the Seafood Council and the companies working in one of Norway's most important export industries", said Christian Chramer. "Our goal is to further develop the strong position that Norwegian seafood has globally by ensuring that a growing world population to an even greater extent opens its eyes to healthy and sustainable seafood", he added.

Amund Drønen Ringdal, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Nomination Committee, was equally pleased with the designation. "We are very pleased to welcome Christian Chramer as the new CEO of the Norwegian Seafood Council. His broad management experience and strong communication skills will help to lift the Seafood Council further, and we look forward to an exciting collaboration in the future", he stated. 

Second time in the NSC

Christian Chramer returns to the Norwegian Seafood Council, where he previously was both communications director and fisheries envoy in Southeast Asia. In this new phase, he brings extensive experience from the NHO system (the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise) where, for the past seven years, he has been regional director, communications director, and joins NSC from a role as area director with responsibility for communication, public relations, and regions in NHO.

In addition to his extensive experience, the new NSC CEO has a 13-year career of service in the Norwegian Army. There he achieved a degree from the Armed Forces Command School, the War School. He also holds a Master's degree in Management and Organization from UiT – Norway's Arctic University.
