Seagriculture EU 2023 positions itself as a leading event

Europe's leading conference for the seaweed industry, Seagriculture EU 2023, which took place June 21-22, was a resounding success and welcomed top industry professionals to Trondheim, Norway.

Europe's leading conference for the seaweed industry, Seagriculture EU 2023, which took place June 21-22, was a resounding success and welcomed top industry professionals to Trondheim, Norway.

During the two intense days, with a record attendance of 221 delegates from 26 countries, the immense potential of seaweed was showcased by over 130 participating companies and institutions. It's crystal clear that seaweed is the new trend.

professionals, researchers, and policymakers underscores the growing recognition of seaweed as a
vital component of a sustainable future. This conference has played a pivotal role in advancing
knowledge, fostering partnerships, and propelling the seaweed industry towards a regenerative
economy."

The conference featured an impressive list of presentations. On the one hand, five renowned experts provided valuable information on the latest developments and emerging trends in the industry. On the other hand, the event also featured a diverse panel of 30 speakers who provided seven informative sessions on topics ranging from cultivation techniques and product innovation to market trends and investment issues. Furthermore, there was also a presentation area where 27 investors had the chance to share their findings in the sector.

Investment experiences and trade show, another of the event's major achievements

There was also time for visits, a special one specifically into the world of seaweed. Through an immersive experience at Korsvika Beach, attendees had the chance to study and taste local seaweed species. Additionally, there was also a tour of the SINTEF and NTNU laboratories, as well as a tour of the laboratory at the Gløshaugen campus, showcasing cutting-edge researchs.

Moreover, another highlight of the Seagriculture EU 2023 was the trade show. This part of the event saw the active participation of 14 exhibitors representing leading companies and organizations of seaweed farming. The trade show provided a platform to showcase leading-edge technologies, sustainable practices, and innovative products that contribute to the growth and advancement of the industry.

This concludes this edition of Seagriculture EU 2023, a platform that has offered a closer look at the diversity, possibilities, and progress of seaweed in Europe.

More information on upcoming editions

The upcoming Seagriculture conference, Seagriculture USA 2023, will take place from September 6th to 7th, 2023, in Portland, Maine, USA. Following that, Seagriculture EU 2024 is planned for June 18th to 20th, 2024, in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. The organizers have exciting plans for next year's conference, which will include a special site visit to Ocean Rainforest.
