Lerøy Seafood Group has reported lower salmon and trout harvest volumes for the second quarter of 2026, while its wild catch division recorded a modest year-on-year increase.
In a trading update published on 3 July, the Norwegian seafood group said it harvested 44,750 gutted weight tonnes (GWT) of salmon and trout in Q2 2026, compared with 48,900 GWT in the same period last year. The figures do not include volumes from its joint venture with SalMar, Scottish Sea Farms.
The decline was largely driven by lower harvests at Lerøy Aurora and Lerøy Sjøtroll. Lerøy Aurora harvested 7,100 GWT during the quarter, down from 11,100 GWT in Q2 2025, while Lerøy Sjøtroll harvested 18,000 GWT, compared with 20,900 GWT a year earlier. A large proportion of Lerøy Sjøtroll’s Q2 volume was trout, at 10,400 GWT, up slightly from 9,800 GWT in the same period last year.
The group reports that Lerøy Midt was the only farming region to increase volumes year on year, harvesting 19,700 GWT in the second quarter, compared with 16,900 GWT in Q2 2025.
Meanwhile, in the company’s wild catch division, Lerøy Havfisk reported total catch volumes of 18,800 tonnes for the quarter, an increase from 17,700 tonnes in Q2 2025. Cod accounted for 1,500 tonnes of this total, compared with 1,200 tonnes a year earlier.
Lerøy is due to publish its full second quarter report on 19 August.
