In the 3rd edition of the Aquaculture Forum, Morocco and Spain "reaffirmed the will and commitment of the two countries to work together to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest and high potential, particularly cooperation in the aquaculture sector."
The event was celebrated on February 2, 2024, in Tangier, and the theme of this edition was 'Strong Partnership for a sustainable aquaculture industry ', the National Agency for the Development of Aquaculture (ANDA) explained through a statement.
According to IPAC Acuicultura, a digital editorial specializing in sector news, Acuiplus, a group of people, companies, and entities related to the Aquaculture sector, and ANDA have partnered for "the exchange of experiences, support for training, and for research strengthen the growth of the sector at an international level".
ANDA explains that aquaculture activity in Morocco is currently positioned among the promising sectors of the future, helping to play an important role as a lever for an inclusive blue economy.
Currently, the sector has 143 farms installed in different regions of the Kingdom for long-term production of more than 75,000 tonnes/year and the creation of 1,700 direct jobs. In addition, 66 projects are being installed for an annual target production of around 24,000 tonnes/year, generating nearly 626 direct jobs.
