Two regional Alaskan seafood development associations have announced they are joining forces to boost consumer awareness of Alaskan wild salmon.

Copper River Prince William Sound Regional Seafood Development Association and the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association will be working together to promote Wild Alaska Salmon throughout 2024.

Their joint marketing efforts will focus on educating consumers about the unique qualities of Wild Alaska Salmon through digital content, including stories on sustainability, fishing practices, and environmental impacts.

These initiatives will involve retail partner trainings and will be featured on websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and consumer-facing accounts.

The aim is to enhance consumer knowledge from boat to plate and encourage consumers to choose wild salmon, highlighting its transparency, quality, and simplicity.

"With both regions’ fishing seasons, U.S. consumers, retailers, and restaurants have a wonderful opportunity to savor fresh Wild Alaska Salmon from early May through the summer months," said Lilani Dunn, executive director of the Bristol Bay RSDA.

Christa Hoover, executive director of Copper River and Prince William Sound RSDA, added: "We are thrilled to join forces with another regional marketing group to inform and celebrate the exceptional qualities of wild Alaska Salmon."

Both marketing associations are funded by fishermen and are dedicated to building brand awareness and consumer preference for their respective salmon products.
