Trident Aqua Services, the aquaculture maritime services company formed from the merger of Intership, Aquaship and FSV Group, has announced a new CEO, Arild Aasmyr, formerly CEO of FSV Group.
Intership and Aquaship announced their merger in December 2023, and formalised their acquisition of FSV Group one year later, in December 2024. The new merged group was rebranded as Trident Aqua Services in May this year.
Aasmyr now takes the helm of the new company, with former CEO of Aquaship-Intership Ole Peter Brandal stepping down.
In a video announcement posted on Trident's LinkedIn company page, Brandal said the change of leadership was a "big moment" for the company, and that he was "proud to hand over the role of CEO of Trident Aqua Services to Arild. I know the company is in good hands."
"When we united Intership, Aquaship and FSV Group to form Trident, we set out to build something new. Not just a company, but a future-facing integrated service partner for the aquaculture industry. The jouney so far has been incredible. New teams, new energy, and one strong, shared direction," Brandal said.
Addressing Aasmyr, Brandal added, "You know the industry, you know the people - and most importantly, you care about getting this right."
Aasmyr thanked Brandal for his leadership, claiming that thanks to him and the Trident workforce, "we have the strongest foundation in the industry", adding that the company has a "world-leading value proposition".
The merged company, which describes itself as "the world’s first company to offer a fully integrated service portfolio across all vessel types required in the aquaculture industry," has a fleet of 60 vessels including live fish transport, service vessels, feed carriers and harvest vessels.
The company previously stated it has eight additional vessels under construction, and employs an international workforce of more than 1,000 people, operating in Norway, Chile, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the Faroe Islands.
