The UK's sustainable high-quality prawn producer, Three‑Sixty Aquaculture, will build a new indoor prawn farm in Oostende, Belgium, thanks to a partnership with the Flemish Fish Auction – one of the country's leading distribution hubs.

It will also receive support from the Belgian incubator for emerging fisheries and aquaculture businesses, Marifish.Inc, which will enable the company to grow, scale UK-designed technology, strengthen its export capacity, and meet the rising demand across Europe.

Three‑Sixty Aquaculture has developed its proprietary Clearwater Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) in Swansea. Belgian municipal authorities have already approved the system, and installation is underway, with the first harvest expected in late summer.

Fresh, premium, head-on, shell-on prawns will be produced, offering an alternative to long-distance imports. With the support of Flemish Fish, the company will gain access to major European buyers, creating new international trade routes.

"Taking our UK‑developed technology into mainland Europe is a pivotal moment for the business. This expansion proves that British aquaculture innovation can scale internationally, delivering fresher, more sustainable seafood. Our partnership with the Flemish Fish Auction gives us a strong commercial platform across Europe and reinforces the credibility of the systems we’ve built here in Swansea," said CEO of Three‑Sixty Aquaculture, James Fox‑Davies.
