BioMar has announced the hiring of the specialist in nutrition and feeding Odd Helge Romarheim. He will be dealing with the product management for salmon and trout growth feed and will be part of the technical department at BioMar Norway.

For the past 11 years, Romarheim has worked as a leader and researcher at Nofima's feed technology center in Bergen. He has an MSc and PhD in fish nutrition from NMBU and began his career as a researcher at the same university.

Technical director Vegard Denstadli explained why they have chosen him for the role: "Odd Helge has the unique combination of solid academic background and experience. There are relatively few people who have a Ph.D. in fish nutrition and who can also 'tinker' and fix an extruder if it misbehaves!"

In more detail, the company indicates in a statement that he will be involved in different tasks including raw material development and implementation, feed technological solutions, basic nutrition, and feeding strategy.

"The opportunity to work with BioMar's growth feed was one I couldn't pass up. I've previously worked with both nutrition and feed for fish associated with various research institutions, so working even closer to the aquaculture industry is very exciting. At BioMar, I have a great opportunity to contribute to the further development of the industry," Romarheim said.

Additionally, Romarheim will work closely with both R&D and sales teams at in the development of new raw materials and product solutions. Kjell Måsøval, who has been in BioMar for the past 30 years, will work beside him.
