Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America has recognized Highland Farms with the 'Best New Retail Product' award for its Salmon Salami and Social Kitchens Professional/SK Foods Brands the 'Best New Foodservice Product' for its Premium Shrimp Sliders.
According to the organizers, the 2024 winners were selected from a group of 11 finalists during a live judging by a panel of seafood buyers and industry experts from the retail and food service industries.
Among them were, Jason Driskill, Vice President of Seafood at HEB, Bob Donegan, President of Ivar’s Restaurants, and Robin Fisher, Director of Corporate Purchasing at HF Foods Group.
The winners were recognized due to their "uniqueness and appropriateness to the market, taste profile, market potential, convenience, nutritional value and originality."
The competition obtained a total of 70 entries and 11 finalists were previously selected through a screening of market-ready products that participated in the Seafood Expo North America New Product Showcase.
The Seafood Excellence Awards presentation was hosted at the Wave Makers' Zone, a new feature at Seafood Expo North America 2024. Also, it gathered the Product Showcases and Oyster Shucking Competition.
The Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America 2024 was celebrated in Boston from Sunday, March 10 till Tuesday, March 12.
