Taste of BC partners with Miracle Springs for fingerling supply

The contract will allow savings of between 2 and 5 months in the growth cycle per respective lot.

Taste of BC Aquafarms Inc., a wholly-owned RAS subsidiary by the sustainable seafood company Blue Star Foods Corp., has partnered with Miracle Springs to supply a "substantial" quantity of fingerlings.

In more detail, the Canadian-based company will deliver (subject to permits), 1,250 kilograms of fish consisting of 750 kg of 100-200 grams & 10,000 50 grams of fingerlings. This translates to a savings of between 2 and 5 months in the growth cycle per respective lot.

Additionally, Miracle Springs will continue to supply 10 to 20 thousand fingerlings during the first and second quarters of 2025 and 20 thousand (50 grams) fingerlings every 2 months starting the third quarter of 2025.

Through this contract, valued at CAD$200,000, Taste of BC's production will grow to 200 tons of Steelhead salmon in 2025 and 2026. Thus, revenues will reach CAD$2.315 million, according to Blue Star Foods Corp.

The main purpose of Taste of BC is to support a greater biomass by reducing the cost of liquid oxygen (LOX) by 40% while also improving the quality of farm water.
