Andfjord Salmon Group AS has signed an agreement with the Norwegian contractor Entreprenør Harald Nilsen AS, with concrete specialist Nornebygg AS as subcontractor, to complete their works at Kvalnes, Andøya.
Entreprenør Harald Nilsen AS and Nornebygg AS plan to complete the next two land-based pools that are part of the current construction phase, with work set to begin in January 2026. Both companies have recently completed a similar project for Statnett, the state-owned company responsible for electricity transmission in Norway.
"We are pleased to reach an agreement with contractors that have extensive experience from concrete works, used to dealing with the climatic conditions in Northern Norway, and can start more or less immediately," said CEO of Andfjord Salmon, Martin Rasmussen.
One of the latest updates on its land-based salmon farming facility was provided by Andfjord Salmon in July, when the company confirmed the successful completion of the inlet waterway connecting the site to the sea.
Similarly, in October, the company confirmed the completion of pool K1 and reported stable biological conditions in pool K0 following the recent smolt release. This followed the successful release of approximately 350,000 smolt on 30 September, marking the beginning of what the company described as a significant expansion of its fish farming operations.
Finally, on 3 December, the salmon company announced a change of contractor. This change has resulted in mobilization costs of approximately NOK 20 million.
