Profand
Profand Fishing Holding closed 2025 with a record turnover of €1.116 billion, representing a 10% increase and consolidating its upward trend. In addition, EBITDA exceeded €97 million, a 27% increase compared to 2024.
According to the Galician company, which already recorded historic revenue of over €1 billion in 2024, this progress is largely due to its collaboration with one of the largest supermarket chains in Spain, Mercadona, resulting in a profit of €30 million.
In terms of investment, Profand allocated €23 million last year to strengthen its production capacity, improve efficiency, adapt to demand, and drive strategic projects across different areas of the business.
Moreover, the company invested in its workforce by hiring 230 new professionals, bringing its total headcount to 5,800 employees. Of these, 3,000 are men, and 2,800 are women.
"These results reflect the strength of Profand's business model and its ability to continue generating value in a competitive environment, while maintaining its commitment to responsible and sustainable growth in partnership with Mercadona, its main client," the company said in a statement.
Finally, on the environmental side, the company reduced its Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 14% per tonne produced. It also managed to recycle or recover 98% of its waste.
Profand Group announced in March of that same year that its majority shareholder, the holding company Lucasiñas S.L.U., had reached an agreement with Corporación Financiera Alba (Alba) to acquire its 23.7% stake in the Spain-based multinational seafood company. With this transaction, Lucasiñas regains Profand's full control.
