Profand Fishing Holding has confirmed that, for the first time in its history, it has achieved a revenue of 1.009 billion euros in 2024. This figure represents an 8% growth compared to the previous year.
Moreover, the fishing company headquartered in Vigo, Galicia, Spain, has reported an EBITDA of 76 million euros, an 11% increase compared to 2023, driven by margin expansion supported by the normalization of key raw material costs and revenue growth.
In addition to making investments worth 20 million euros, the group has sold 78 million trays in 2024, of which 69 million were produced in Spain.
Finally, in 2024, Profand increased its global workforce by 433 employees, of which 286 are based in its plants in Spain. Over the past two years, 505 new jobs have been created.
Thanks to its Profand4Future strategy, the company has continued progressing and meeting its sustainability goals over the past year.
One of these goals has been to achieve MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification for the Australian prawn from regional waters and to have its Argentine fleet certified with the RFVS (Responsible Fishing Vessel Standard).
Furthermore, Profand has reached 50% recycled plastic in its auxiliary materials, and its plants in Spain now recycle nearly 100% of their waste.
Last month, Profand Group announced that its majority shareholder, the holding company Lucasiñas S.L.U., had reached an agreement with Corporación Financiera Alba (Alba) to acquire its 23.7% stake in the Spain-based multinational seafood company for EUR 127 million. With this transaction, Lucasiñas regains Profand's full control.
