Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has confirmed the delivery of power and automation systems for a new live fish carrier being built by the Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted shipyard for the Norwegian aquaculture logistics operator North Salmon Service.

In addition, NES will support system integration with motors (including propulsion and bow thrusters), generators, transformers, AC/DC switchboards, a battery pack, and a charging solution. Finally, it will deliver an integrated automation system (IAS) and a power management system (PMS).

"This contract follows a constructive dialogue with both the owner and the yard, reflecting a shared focus on vessel performance and long-term value. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with both Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted and North Salmon Service," assured the Managing Director of NES Siv Remøy-Vangen.

Back in July, NES's sister company, HAV Design, confirmed it would design the new live fish carrier for North Salmon Service. The design is based on the HAV 595, which supports a wide range of live fish operations, including transportation and sorting.

The delivery of the integrated energy and control system, now confirmed, will ensure safe, efficient, and stable operations for vessels transporting large volumes of fish.

"We are delivering well-proven power and automation systems to this vessel. Now we look forward to commencing the work in close cooperation with Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted, North Salmon Service, and HAV Design," concluded Jan Klokk, VP sales at NES.
