US aquaculture "influencer" and seafood enthusiast James Sibley will be shortly joining Mowi USA in Boston, according to an announcement on Sibley's LinkedIn page.

Sibley, who began a seafood-themed channel on social media platform TikTok in 2021, has since garnered over 400,000 followers and more than 220 million views. Originally from the Boston area, he holds a degree in genetic biology from Northeastern University.

"I'm thrilled to announce that I have joined Mowi as a Junior Key Account Manager in their Raw Materials and Trade department," Sibley posted on LinkedIn during the weekend.

"Mowi USA strives to bring the best that global salmon aquaculture has to offer to the US. With rising demand and legislative doors opening for robust stateside operations, now is the best time for industry leaders like Mowi to expand their presence in the US."

"This, coupled with their incredible US-based team and my firsthand accounts of their innovative and sustainable operations, is why I'm truly ecstatic to join their new Boston RMT team."

However, Sibley also made clear he intends to continue his role as an influencer, or "aquaculture educator", as he puts it.

"My role as an aquaculture educator through Sibley Media will continue independently, in full. In fact, my position with Mowi will bolster what's possible. Exciting times ahead!" he wrote.
