Aquaculture and fish tracking technology firm Innovasea has promoted Jorge Bravo to become Managing Director of its Chilean business.

Bravo joined the firm in 2020 and has been serving as Technical Manager for Chile. Innovasea states that he has been closely involved in establishing and expanding its presence in the country since his arrival.

Announcing the appointment via a press release, Innovasea’s Vice President of Aquaculture Marc Turano said Bravo “has consistently proven himself as a leader and shown a strategic, results-oriented mindset that has been instrumental in driving our Chilean success”. Turano added that he believes Bravo will “continue to elevate the role and foster meaningful relationships across the region”.

In his new position, Bravo will be responsible for operations, performance and strategic direction in Chile, with a particular focus on ensuring fish farms have access to dependable technology and ongoing support, while also working with them to co-develop new products aimed at improving the competitiveness of Chile’s salmon sector.

Innovasea says this collaborative approach will involve gathering detailed feedback from farmers about operational challenges and technological gaps. The company says these insights will guide future research and development, building on the firm’s existing portfolio, which includes its BiomassPro biomass estimation system and aquaMeasure environmental sensors.

"I'm excited to partner with local farms, making them an integral part of the country's long-term success," Bravo said, adding that through collaboration, "we'll be able to better tailor state-of-the-art solutions that effectively meet their needs and deliver sustainable, long-term growth."

This latest appointment follows Innovasea's recent confirmation that its interim Chief Executive Officer, Mark Jollymore, has been appointed permanent CEO of the company.
