Norwegian Greentech
Norwegian Greentech has announced an agreement with Nordic Halibut to deliver a comprehensive water treatment system. The contract includes treatment of both intake and discharge water, along with an integrated control system that will enable real-time monitoring and management of water quality.
The technology used by the water treatment system supplier for the aquaculture industry meets all requirements related to biosecurity, environmental performance, and operational reliability, as well as energy efficiency.
"By delivering a complete solution that includes both process equipment and an overall control system, we contribute to efficient operations in a facility that sets a new standard for sustainable halibut production," said Senior Vice President Commercial at Norwegian Greentech, Børge Gjelseth.
Additionally, Gunnar Brekstad of Nordic Halibut AS noted: "It is essential for us to establish a production facility that meets the highest standards for fish welfare, environmental protection, and operational reliability."
Moreover, Nordic Halibut reached an agreement in March with Pure Norwegian Seafood (PNS), granting it the right to use PNS's processing facilities in Averøy, a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, in the Nordmøre region, Norway.
According to the company’s second quarter 2025 report, total sales, the average sales price, and total biomass growth at sea all increased. Despite the rise in revenue, NOHAL reported a negative EBITDA of NOK -27 million and a net loss of NOK -41 million for the quarter.
Finally, Norwegian Greentech confirmed in February that it will supply its water treatment system to Arctic Seafarm's land-based salmon farming facility in Nesna, Helgeland, Nordland County, Norway.
