Canada's Poseidon Ocean Systems has announced the appointment of Raphael Floriano as its new Technical Procurement Specialist.
Floriano brings more than seven years of experience in technical sourcing, direct materials procurement, supplier management and manufacturing operations, the company said in a LinkedIn update.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and an MBA in Supply Chain management, and has worked alongside engineering, quality and operations teams.
In his new role, Floriano will support the procurement of engineered components, materials and services for Poseidon Ocean Systems’ fish life support solutions.
Poseidon named Chris Beattie as its new Commercial Director in May, adding an experienced aquaculture and marine technology executive to its leadership team. The company later announced that food and agri investment expert Josien Bakker would be joining its Board of Directors.
In December, Poseidon secured CAD 20 million (around EUR 13.5m / USD 14.7m) in backing from Export Development Canada, which the company said would support wider deployment of its aquaculture technologies and increase its manufacturing capacity.
The company also recently announced that its Chilean division is partnering with Kran Nanobubble, focusing on environmental and production management in Chile’s salmon farming sector.
